This page is a plain-language description of how VerseEasy currently handles
your information. It is provided for transparency and is not a substitute
for legal advice. If you are launching commercially, please have an
attorney review this document.
Who we are
VerseEasy is a tool for understanding the Christian Bible in plain language,
operated by True Anchor LLC. You can reach us at

What we collect
VerseEasy works without an account and saves personal study material on your device by default. If you choose Carry Your Journey, a private cloud copy is also stored so your studies can follow you across devices. Specifically:
Verse and phrase requests. When you ask for a translation
or explanation, we send the verse reference, version, or phrase you typed
to Anthropic's API in order to generate a response. We do not attach
your name, email, or account identifier to that request, because we do
not require an account.
Local Journey and People studies. Saved verses, reflections,
notes, people studies, and reading progress are stored in your browser's
local storage. No account is required. If you do not sign in, this
material is not sent to our cloud-sync service.
Optional Carry Your Journey account. If you intentionally
sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication provides your account identity
and VerseEasy stores a private cloud copy of your Journey entries, People
studies, notes, reflections, and reading progress. This copy is associated
with your Firebase user ID so it can be returned only after a verified
sign-in. Verse and phrase requests remain separate from this account data.
Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may
record basic request metadata such as IP address, user-agent, and
timestamps for operational and security purposes.
Aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count anonymous page
views so we can understand how many people use VerseEasy. It does not
use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and does not collect
personal information. The data we see is aggregate (page views, top
pages, country, referrer), never tied to an individual.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data.
We do not run advertising trackers or cross-site behavioral analytics.
We do not require an account to use the Bible-study features.
We do not create a cloud copy of your studies unless you choose Carry Your Journey and sign in.
We do not make your Journey entries or People studies public.
Third parties we rely on
Anthropic — processes verse and phrase requests to
generate explanations. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details on
how they handle API inputs.
Vercel — hosts the application and serverless
functions, and provides the privacy-friendly Web Analytics
described above.
Google Firebase — provides optional Google sign-in and
stores the private Carry Your Journey cloud copy for signed-in users.
Cookies and similar technology
VerseEasy does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use
browser local storage to keep My Journey, People studies, preferences, and
offline state on your device. Firebase Authentication may maintain the
sign-in session when you choose Carry Your Journey. A service worker cache
helps the app load quickly and work offline.
Optional cloud sync
Carry Your Journey merges studies saved on the current device with the
private copy associated with the signed-in account. Signing out does not
erase the device copy. You can delete the cloud copy from My Journey;
VerseEasy leaves the device copy in place so deletion is not accidental.
Children
VerseEasy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can delete individual Journey and People-study items inside VerseEasy,
clear the device copy through your browser's site-data controls, or delete
the complete cloud copy from the Carry Your Journey panel. Deleting the
cloud copy does not automatically erase the device copy. If you have
