This page is a plain-language description of how VerseEasy currently handles
your information. It is provided for transparency and is not a substitute
for legal advice. If you are launching commercially, please have an
attorney review this document.
Who we are
VerseEasy is a tool for understanding the Christian Bible in plain language,
operated by True Anchor LLC. You can reach us at
connect@trueanchor.us.
What we collect
VerseEasy is designed to keep your data on your device. Specifically:
Verse and phrase requests. When you ask for a translation
or explanation, we send the verse reference, version, or phrase you typed
to Anthropic's API in order to generate a response. We do not attach
your name, email, or account identifier to that request, because we do
not require an account.
"My Journey" entries. Saved verses and journal notes are
stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not
sent to our servers and we cannot read them.
Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may
record basic request metadata such as IP address, user-agent, and
timestamps for operational and security purposes.
Aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count anonymous page
views so we can understand how many people use VerseEasy. It does not
use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and does not collect
personal information. The data we see is aggregate (page views, top
pages, country, referrer), never tied to an individual.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data.
We do not run advertising trackers or cross-site behavioral analytics.
We do not require an account.
We do not read or sync your saved verses or journal entries.
Third parties we rely on
Anthropic — processes verse and phrase requests to
generate explanations. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details on
how they handle API inputs.
Vercel — hosts the application and serverless
functions, and provides the privacy-friendly Web Analytics
described above.
Cookies and similar technology
VerseEasy does not set tracking cookies. We use the browser's local
storage to keep your "My Journey" entries on your device, and a service
worker cache to make the app load quickly and work offline.
Future changes
We expect to add optional accounts and cloud sync (so your journey can
follow you across devices). When that happens, this policy will be
updated to describe what is collected, where it is stored, and how to
delete it. You will be able to use the app without an account.
Children
VerseEasy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can clear your "My Journey" data at any time by clearing your
browser's site data for VerseEasy, or by deleting individual items from
the My Journey screen. If you have questions about this policy, email
connect@trueanchor.us.
